Bev's Bouncing Baby Boys Blog Hop!

Welcome Everyone! It is with great delight that I am taking part in this blog hop today, to celebrate the birth of "Uniko Studio" Beverley's two gorgeous twin boys!

I hope you are enjoying the blog hop so far! If you wish to play along with us, please feel free! There is an inlinkz link tool on the Uniko Studio blog post!

I am so pleased that I will be able to deliver my card in person! Just so I can go and have a cuddle of the twins!

Here is my card:

Major apologies for the lighting! For some reason I just could not get it right tonight! It is a very simple design, using Winnie and Walter 'The Big, The Bold And..." Stamps. I used several different sets to get the sentiment that I wanted. Love that I can do that!

The cute pea pods are from an old Printworks Collection clear stamp set. This was one of the first clear stamps sets that I bought at the start of my card making, so I thought that these would be perfect. Stamped in Memento Gray Flannel, on standard white card stock, and coloured using Derwent Inktense Pencils. The main focal sentiment is also stamped in Gray Flannel, with the small additional sentiments stamped in Ranger Archival Ink in Aquamarine. This is also the ink that I used for the little border pattern.

Here is a close up of those gorgeous pea pods! Just love them!

Thank you so much for visiting me! Please continue on to visit my Uniko Studio buddies! There are sure to have many more treats waiting for you!

Bev - if you are reading this - thinking of you lovely! I cannot wait to see you all very soon!

Take care, and thank you for visiting!

Anniversary Wishes

Hello Again! I know, like buses - you wait for ages for a post from me, and then two arrive at the same time!

Well, as I said before I have been having some fun whilst the weather has been bad trying out inks and playing - getting ready for the start of Stretch Your Stamps 2. This will be the first interactive class that I have done - timed brilliantly so that I am on holiday! I cannot wait!

Again, I used my Adirondack inks for this - this time I used Sunshine Yellow, Pool and Lake Mist as the colours of this project. These were washed through a Memory Box 'Texture Dots' stencil - I just love the results! The layout was from the current Fusion sketch. I stamped the always stunning Uniko Studio Pure Florals : Chrysanthemum smaller flower and leaf, and the sentiments from the same set. The leaf was water coloured with Lake Mist and Pool inks, with the flower coloured with Sunshine Yellow.

Here is a closer photo of the detail. The flower was popped up on a bit of foam tape to give a bit of interest.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges. They are:

Uniko Studio - Anything Goes

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Bow Tie (Colours)

Less Is More - Colour Challenge

Thanks again for looking at my blog! Kx

Celebrate In Style!

Welcome again to the blog! I have a couple of posts today, as I have had time to enter some challenges and to play! The weather here was really rainy, so the perfect time to stay in. I had to fight my urge to make labels and stick them on the ink pads which I have renewed my love for - more of that later!

I have used Mama Elephant 'Bloomsies' and the matching Creative Cuts to create the focal points of the card. The watercolour background was created using Adirondack Brights dye inks (Pool, Sunshine Yellow, Watermelon) and water to move the ink around, and a new Stampin Up! Stencil. The Bloomsies were stamped and then using a wet brush I moved the ink around again to give the watercolour effect. The sequins were created using the Mama Elephant Confetti Creative Cut, with watercolour base of Sunshine Yellow or Pool, with Sakura sparkle applied with a water brush. This gave them a lovely sparkle - which unfortunately my photography does not show too well - you can see it a little in the detail shot below.

I would like to enter this into three challenges. They are:

Mama Elephant and Me - August Challenge (Watercolouring and Birthdays)
CASology - Rainbow
CAS(E) this Sketch! - #87 - Gayatri Murali

Thanks for looking! Kx

School's Out!

Hello Again! Thanks for dropping by. Well, this last week provided me with the opportunity to get organised and do some creating!

I wanted to say a big 'Thank You' to three lovely ladies who have made my transition into a new job really smooth, for which I am truly grateful! I am now so lucky to work in the most gorgeous school, and though it provides it's day to day challenges, I cannot wait to get there every morning!

Right! Onto the interesting stuff!! Here are the three cards that I put together. I wanted something really quick, so out came my Avery Elle "Laurels", and Winnie and Walter "The Big, The Bold and You". I used Avery Elle's pigment inks as well, the colours are so lovely and vibrant. I love pigment ink again!!

I just love the way that the Avery Elle inks work together. So pretty, and such lovely colours.

I made three cards, small format, but were enough to say how thankful I was! I think they look lovely together - there might be more of a chance to bundle cards together to make them a present for someone. I might give that a try over the holiday!

Thank you so much for visiting! I think I need to find myself a nice watermark too!

I'm starting an Online Card Class shortly, so there should be a lot more activity on here for a while!

Introducing English Country Garden - Butterflies

Hello Everyone! Thanks for dropping by!

Well, I am really excited to share this card! I have had the honour of rejoining the Uniko Studio Design Team as GDT for this release! Thanks Bev for asking me back - it is so good to share your beautiful work. I was on the original design team, and I have missed playing with Uniko loveliness!

I took the advantage of a beautiful sunny day to photograph my card in daylight. I thought it was really appropriate as it was butterflies! Gorgeous!

I have to say how much I LOVE this set! I love to colour, so this suits me down to the ground!! There are two sizes of butterfly in the set - I have used the larger one for my card.

The other Uniko Studio sets that I have used on this card are Background Builders : Lattice, and Fontiments . have used Stampin Up! colours and card stock for this card. The colours are :
  • Crumb Cake
  • Calypso Coral
  • Apricot Appeal
  • Bermuda Bay

I used watercolour paper to stamp on in Versafine Onyx Black, and then water coloured from a palette using Stampin Up! markers. Being able to mix up the sentiments and fonts works perfectly with these colours! There is a healthy amount of Wink Of Stella clear on this too - the sparkle you get from that is SO pretty!

Thanks for visiting today - remember to go and visit the all the other members of the Uniko Studio Design Team and Lynn, GDT for the entire release! Remember your comments on posts during the release are entered for prizes!! Who wouldn't want the chance to win!

Have a great Sunday! Hope it is lovely and sunny where you are!

Spring Thoughts

Hello Again!

Firstly - a huge THANK YOU for all the comments on my first post on this blog! It was lovely to read all of the kind words that were left. It certainly encouraged me to post again!

I thought I would enter the CASology Challenge again with this card, as the theme is Flowers. This is for a lovely lady who looks after my dogs for me when I am at work, and I could not do without her!

I played with a couple of new things that have joined my stash this week. The flowers are WPlus9 Spring Blooms, and they have been inked up with Avery Elle's pigment inks. These are gorgeous colours, and have created some lovely detail. You can just see the stamping on the right hand side, which has been picked out with some more Wink of Stella.

The colours that I used were: Lemon Grass, Celery, Pixie, Raspberry, Mimosa and Fizz. They were lovely to use, so will not be going in a cupboard out of the way! The card stock is Stampin Up!, and the gorgeous sentiment is from Mama Elephant. Just love the cursive sentiment. The heart was coloured with a blossom Copic Spica pen.

Thank you so much for visiting! Kx
